IBM ThinkPad 360C 2620-30F

The 360C was released in 1994. A friend gave me this old, beat-up example some time in the late 90s. I installed OpenBSD on it and took it wardriving. A little while later I used it as a writing machine during trips to the laundry mat.

Low RAM and no FPU means it’s no longer capable of running modern OpenBSD. Last I had booting was a 3.4 kernel, but most programs that use networking functions trigger floating point errors and dump core. Trying to dd a floppy disk image also dumps core. I’ve replaced the DRAM card, but now it seems likely the soldered-on memory may be faulty. Well, it had a good run.

The 300 series has a bad reputation, but the keyboard on this thing is amazing.
