MNT Reform #000158
howto
works
graphics, usb, wifi, probably more
doesn’t work
It’s generally very slow. The Intel 6205 I installed for 9front works for a few minutes at most, and then dies, requiring a reboot. Firefox and Gimp are very slow, and dump core frequently, rendering it not quite usable,* which exhausts the complete list of reasons I would boot OpenBSD instead of 9front in the first place.
(* I know.)
wifi
I’ve tried both Intel 6205 and 5300. Both eventually, always, crap out with iwn0: device timed out
, requiring a reboot to restore network connectivity. No, sh /etc/netstart
is not sufficient to restore service.
The following in hostname.iwn0
did not help, either:
media autoselect mode 11g
files
bsd.iwn, dmesg, flash.bin, iwn-6005
